Penang Blues...
Got home from Penang just last Thursday from a bridal shoot... It was really one hell of a fun experience... Really cool people to work with... My 'lao gong'... Kevin... LOL... The chemistry was totally unbelievable... And my roomie... Linda... LOL... The girl talks and teasing sessions we had... It just felt like we 16 again... And then the make up artist... Joyce... All the girls ganging up against Kevin (toilet seat), or all the really wierd rules... Rule no 3: never piss the make up artist off (applicable only to Kev)... And Rule no 7: don't talk when make up artist is doing make up on you and Rule no 9: No humps when make up artist is doing make up on you (applicable only to Linda)... And of course there's a rule that applies to me... Rule no 8: don't be kaypo... LOL... And of course there's Andy the photographer... 女性Shoulder relax 多一点... 男性笑多一点... 你们分开多一点... Hahaz... He actually thought Kev and I were a couple in real life... Only to find out on the last night that we weren't a couple... Hahaz... And there's also Kelvin... the other photographer and driver... well without him we wouldn't be going up in a car... We'd probably have to walk... Imagine having to put up with all the commotion in the back while trying to drive safely... RESPECT!!! Hahaz... And not forgetting our 'Mummy' on the trip... Susan... She doesn't even seem like the boss at all... She's got no airs at all... She really took very very good care of us... Even when she was sick... She's a real super woman... Well that said, the whole team's done... Now into the trip proper... ;)...
Day 1: Off to Penang
We met at noon at Jazreel Collections... Ok... Linda reached at 1130 and I reached at 1145... Only to find out that we were the first to reach the shop... Even BEFORE the shop was opened... So we obviously had to wait outside the shop like 2 homeless gals with huge bags... Everyone that walked by us stared at us like as though we were martians! LOL... Then at 12, someone finally came to open the shop... We went in thinking that we were gonna set off soon but no... We had to wait for Kev and Joyce... But anyway, everyone finally arrived... And by time we got everything together, it was almost (maybe already past) 2... That's when we left Singapore... We travelled for bout an hour or so when Kev said 'is there like a toilet anywhere?'... Or something to that extent... And it was then that Linda and I took the cue... shhhhhhhh... LOL... It was hilarious... Hahaz... He was like 'thanks ah!' He must have been very very super duper urgent then... He was literally (almost i think) running for the toilet when we stopped! Hahaz... Then another hour or so... A voice from the back came... 'I think I'll be needing the toilet... Again...' LOL... Think that was what he said... Well you get the idea... LOL... And this time Joyce joined in the shh-ing... Hahaz... We were all laughing to the point of tears... Hahaz... And it was that stop when Linda says she'll never ever go shopping with me again... LOL... Another long story... Well we travelled a total of 4-5hrs before we reached Sunway Lagoon, KL... Where we had to pick Susan up...
When we reached, we had about 30min to do whatever we wanted... And because Linda's and my nails were ruined, we wanted to get a manicure done... And Kevin was just so sweet to follow us all around... So we found this mani pedi place... I settled for a french manicure while Linda wanted some nail art done... But she only decided after my manicure was done... So basically she took a whole 20min to choose a design and all that... And during all that, Kevin just waited patiently! He even helped her pick the design... Tell me where can you find a guy like that... He's really like 'WOW!' So when we were getting our nails done, he went round the shopping centre (The Pyramid... Super duper nice place... with an ice skating rink inside!) to get himself some stuff... When he came back, he was like showing us what he managed to get... LOL... A guy shopping... Not a first... LOL... Anyway, he asked if we wanted anything to drink and he actually went down to get something for us (ok... Linda only 'cause i didn't feel like getting anything except rest...)... And after that he actually went round the whole shopping centre AGAIN just to help Linda get a towel (which she obviously forgot to bring 'cause she thought we were staying at a hotel...) Isn't he such a sweetie pie? He's just so so the ideal kinda guy... Hahaz... Well we were obviously late in meeting Susan cuz we had to wait for Linda to finish with her nails... But anyway, we still met them... After that, we headed for dinner, where my burkies fell into the drain and Linda's heels broke... So she had a reason to go shoe shopping the next day... After a yummy dinner, we continued on our way up to Penang...
It took us like another 3hrs before reached... This time Joyce and Kevin switched places... Joyce was at the back while Kev went to the front... Not too long in the trip up to Penang, Joyce was like 'I need the toilet!!'... And from that time onwards, that seat was known as the toilet seat... The journey then was very bumpy and winding... We were going through mountain ranges and valleys... In pitch black darkness... The only thing that illuminated the road were the headlights of cars and the occasional street lighting which was for the police to catch traffic offenders... Then just after midnight, we FINALLY reached Penang... Susan had to run a bit of errands first before we went over to her place... So all that done, we headed to the other part of Penang to Susan's apartment... IT WAS HUGE!!!! AND SO SO BEAUTIFUL!!! KINDA LIKE MY DREAM HOME!!! Obviously there was a lot of commotion... And when we finally settled into bed, it was close to 3... And we had to wake up like 5hrs later for breakfast... But anyway, we had fun... So off to sleep we went... With a bit of girl talk... LOL... Subject of our conversation... Isn't it obvious? ;)
Day 2: 1st day of shoot
I couldn't sleep the night before... Was just tossing and turning in bed and waking up like ever hour... Until bout 8plus when i gave up sleeping... But the night before, I had a really really 'OMG' kinda dream... hahaz... The feeling when I woke up was like 'OMG!!! Ok... It was just a dream...' Well Linda and I were kinda lazing in bed and talking girl stuff... Ok... Well I was telling her bout my dream (to cut the long story short, Kev n I snogged in it)... Anyway, she came to the conclusion that I was having a massive crush on him... And I was like 'no la... Can't be'... But thinking back, I think that's when it all started... Anyway, we went to wash up and then went out for breakfast... Everyone except Kev, Linda and myself were all up and about... Ok... We weren't exactly tired out but we were like 'I don't feel like eating... I want sleep...' LOL... Well Susan ordered fish ball kway teow soup and chicken feet noodles for us... It was full of MSG and after eating that I was like 'I NEED WATER!!!' Which i got when we got back to the apartment... Well it was only Joyce, Kev and myself that went back cause Susan followed Linda to get her shoes and Kelvin and Andy went to get stuff for the shoot... So Joyce got started on my make up while Kev became 'Maria' (soon to be Mario... Thanks to me... LOL)... She did a really good job with my hair and make up... I had a really natural look and a really sweet hairstyle... Then after me was Linda's turn and then Kev... I got changed into my gown... And immediately I felt as though it was really my wedding day... I just loved that feeling... At that moment I really couldn't wait to get married... But at that moment Linda and I had to share our 'lao gong'...
Anyway, I was the first to be shot (duh!)... Nervous... Maybe a bit 'cause I didn't know what to do... But when Kev came in as my 'lao gong'... OMG!! I totally blushed... Maybe it was the dream... Or maybe I did have a huge huge crush on him... It was like so close and yet so far!! He just eased himself behind me... OMG!! I just want it to happen again!!! Hahaz... I felt 17 again!!! Hahaz... Like a first love kinda thing... Hahaz... Of course, initially the chemistry wasn't that strong... Andy was like 近一点... But as the shoot got on... Well it was enough to make him think we were a couple... There were so many shots where I was just so tempted to just plant a kiss on his lips... When we were doing a shot on the fire hydrant... At the mosque... On the trishaw... When he carried me... When our eyes met... ARGH!!!! We could literally feel each other's breath! Hahaz... It just felt so good to be in his embrace... Anyway, we also did a few shots on the day bed with Linda... And I was really the odd one out... Hahaz... Both of the were giving attitude stuff while I was just being a really sweet bride... LOL... Well but all good things come to an end...
After the shoot, we went back to the apartment to bathe, change and choose Linda's lao gong... I was washing my hair when she came pounding on the door n screaming, 'Becky, hurry come help me choose lao gong!!' Hahaz... When I came out, everyone juz disappeared into the kitchen... So when 'The Bachelorette' started, our darling Linda was just so so excited that she went to pound on Kev's door just to get him out to choose his Luigi... Hahaz... He reaction was the best when he came out... Hahaz... He had this 'ok okI get your point' kinda look... Hahaz... Anyway, after all that excitment... Linda's lao gong was settled and there was another couple... Hahaz... The more the merrier... LOL... At least I got to keep my lao gong... LOL... Well dinner followed and after that we headed back home to zzz... LOL... Linda and I were so tired that we just couldn't sleep... So we decided to go disturb Kev... Hahaz... Linda fell asleep while we (Kev and I) were talking... And she just suddenly carried her pillow and blanket and went back into our room... Kev and I were like... Hmmm... Is she sleep walking... So anyway, Kev and I continued talking till bout 3plus (I think)... Well got to know him even better... And figured that I was starting to fall for him... Now that's good and bad... Good 'cause I've found someone better... Bad 'cause I was (am?) attached... Oh well... After that I went back to my room to KO for the night (where i froze)... LOL...
Day 3: 2nd day of shoot
Day 2 of the shoot... Everyone was super duper tired... Everyone woke up late... So instead of going out to eat, they bought Macs in... And for the record, Macs in Malaysia DOES NOT believe in breakfast... So in the end we all had a burger each... And after that it's off to work again... This time Linda got her hair and make up done first... She had a really sweet look... I had my hair and make up done... And I got a rocker chic look... LOL... It was something different... And FINALLY i was able to give the attitude look... Hahaz... Well the shots we did today were much faster than the previous day... Think it must be the chemistry we built over the past 2 days... We had lots of beautiful shots... At the dam, in the rice fields, at the temple... It was just so so beautiful... And we were the bestest couple among the three... LOL... Even Susan and Joyce were looking at us and giggling... Probably talking bout us... Hahaz...
After the shoot was dinner... It was at this seaside food centre... Food was ok la... But what made it better was Lao Gong was feeding me everything... Hahaz... And we had our own fear factor... Linda was feeding Kev with cow stomach and ginger skin while I was feeding him with chilli padi... Hahaz... It was then that I figured I was falling for Kev... He just gives me butterflies in me tummy... *grinz*
After dinner we headed home to change to go clubbing... And they have ladies night too... Well clubbing was disappointing but Kev was keeping me company throughout the whole time... Linda and her lao gong and his friends went off to dance and all that while Kev and I juz sat and talked "bout our lives... We were talking even until we got home... Hahaz... And Joyce was like 'the two of you talked the whole trip here and throughout the whole 2 days and at the club and you're still not done yet?" Hahaz... Oh well... With 20 plus years of our lives in the bag... What do you think?... Hahaz... Anyway, I spent the night in his room continuing our conversation... Also 'cause Linda was totally knocked out on the bed... It was the best night in the whole trip... Ok... Apart from the storm, it was the best...
Day 4: Home Sweet Home
All good things have to come to an end... Everyone woke up late... Except Linda and myself of course... Hahaz... We were all ready to go when everyone was just waking up... Joyce came into our room and she was like 'Wah! You all packed already ah!' Hahaz... Kevin came into our room and the reaction was about there too... LOL... Hahaz... Even Kelvin and Andy weren't up yet... Oh well... LOL... After everyone finally got their stuff together, we set off for brunch... Had food with lots of MSG... It was super salty... Yuck... Oh well... Its still food anyway... After brunch, we went to get our tao sa pia and beh teh saw and whatever else... And from there it was back to Singapore... We caught the ferry across... It has been such a long time since I went on that... The last time I went I was just a little girl... Well we had a really smooth ride... Took quite a bit of pictures... They've got beautiful scenary... Oh well... So we had to go back... The drive home was much faster partly because we had less stops to make... We also had A&W waffles and root beer float... Something which we can't get here anymore... Oh well... I just wanna relive the whole thing again...
