Catching up... Part 2

I'm back again... To continue on the catching up...

My 21st Birthday
Well... this happened a couple of weeks after I returned from my pageant... Had a party at the Warren Golf and Country Club on the 3rd of December 2006... Mostly relatives, family friends and a few of my friends... Yupz... It was a luncheon... Buffet style... Food was yummy... lol... I also had a 3D castle as my birthday cake... hehez... Something which I had at my 12th birthday... It was kinda like leaving kid-hood behind (although I still feel like a kid...hehez... dun wanna leave the privileges behind... know what I mean... Hehez)... Of course there's the presents to talk bout too... Got bags, jewellery, perfumes, soaps, hong baos... and a DIAMOND ring from my darlingest dearest Albert... Anywayz, that was the big big celebration with all me friends n relatives n yadada...

On the actual day, I went swimming with my darling in the morning... Was super quiet cuz it was a Monday... In the afternoon, we met 'kor kor' Eddie to go prawn fishing... at Marina south... Used hum as bait n waited for those huge ass prawns to feed on them... It's not easy to catch them... Waited eons for the first one to bite... But it was fun... spent a hell long time there... we were supposed to bbq the prawns we caught for dinner... But there was not enough to feed 3 hungry people... Hehe... So in the end we went to the Marina South food centre to eat... After that we went to the Party World at Prince Edward Road... Sang till past midnight n then went home... So that was about it for my 21st birthday... (pictures are on multiply)

Christmas and New Year
Christmas 2006 was a rather different one for me... Firstly, I wasn't involved in an church stuff... So I could go to mass without worrying about what's gonna happen during the mass... Was a HUGE relieve... I also had a BBQ with Albert and the gang on christmas eve... Only thing is I could not go for the BBQ 'cause of mass... So I had to meet them after mass at the airport... That's where we did the gift exchange... I got an mp3 player... Christmas day itself was the usual gathering at my grandparents' place... After that went to meet at his sister's place... Nothing exciting really happened... Except it's Albert's and my first christmas together...

New Year was rather busy... Firstly, Albert had a friend down from Taiwan on New Year's Eve... That meant we had to bring them around our little island sightseeing... That night, I had to work... As a carlsberg gal... I swear I'd never do that kinda job again... It was a NIGHTMARE!!!! After the event, I went to Mr Bean Cafe with Albert and Tham to get a bite and headed home after that... New Year's day was pretty much slacking with Albert... Can't really remember what we did that day... hehez.... It's such a LONG time ago...

Malacca Trip/CNY
This was my 1st overnight trip overseas with my darling... Was kinda fun... We had like 4 cars going up to Malacca... We started really early on Saturday morning... And each car had a walkie talkie... So basically we can be like damn far apart but still talk like we were in close proximity... Duh... hahaz... That's what walkies let you do... Hehez... But of course, guys being guys, they thought they were commentating at the Sepang F1 Track... Hahaz... Differences are vast... But they both have one thing in common... Entertainment... Hahaz... It was hilarious... Along the way, everyone except Garry's car got stopped... For speeding apparently... Along the north-south highway... And it was there that I got to witness corruption in the policing system first hand... It's really money talk... From a RM300 speeding fine to a RM50 'bribe'... Anywayz, after a butt aching 4hr journey, we finally reached Malacca... checked into the hotel first then went for chicken rice ball lunch... After that, we did a bit of sightseeing... And then went shopping... for pineapple tarts n the usual new year goodies... And also for other fashion stuff... We then went for dinner at KFC at Makota parade... And we then headed to Jonker street... To get really cheap bargains... It so happened that there was some opening and we (Albert, Eddie and myself) were caught in some procession... They obviously had the Lion Dances... And we just so happened to be IN FRONT of one PLAYFUL lion... And my darling, being himself, had to be just as playful n tease it... And being playful, the lion came n started dancing behind me... I knew that it was behind me but I NEVER expected it to breathe down my back! I obviously freaked out when I turned around only to find it staring back at me! Anywayz, we had chandol after that and decided to head back to the hotel but detoured along the way for satay chelok (or something like that)... The way it was served was totally disgusting... Didn't like it at all... Anywayz we went back to the hotel after a long long day to rest... Breakfast the next day was the usual international buffet breakfast... After breakfast, we went to collect all our new year goodies and headed home... It was another long 4 butt-aching hours to JB where we had dinner... After dinner was another long long journey home... As usual, the causeway was jammed... So in the end, we reached home bout 8plus...

The next day, darling took leave... just to queue up for lim chee guan bak kwa! I obviously followed him down and at 9am, the freaking queue was much longer than a snake and a dragon put together! It's total MADNESS and INSANITY!!! And I will NEVER again in my entire life queue up for bak kwa... Anywayz, it was one hell of an experience... (Malacca and Bak kwa photos can be found here)

Exams
Everyone's most dreaded time of the year came and went!! Exam fever hit LSE students all over the world from early May to Mid June... I was lucky to finish mine by the end of May... I have finally unofficially graduated from university and closed the first part of the trilogy of my life... It's just so so fast... Time really flies...

Well since then, I've been bumming around, meeting Albert more often than ever before... Another reason's also cuz he's gonna be in Bahrain for 15 freaking weeks!!! Sigh... As much as I don't want him to, it's his call ultimately at the end of day... It sucks... But I just hope everything will work out much better than before... Oh well... enough of that... I'm also hoping that I can get into the police force... So much uncertainty... Anywayz... that's the end of the catching up... Will be going for a cruise in a week... So till then my faithful readers...Everyone's most dreaded time of the year came and went!! Exam fever hit LSE students all over the world from early May to Mid June... I was lucky to finish mine by the end of May... I have finally unofficially graduated from university and closed the first part of the trilogy of my life... It's just so so fast... Catching up... Part 1

It's been eons since I wrote something solid on me blog... So, to all those who have been constantly looking in for updates... Well, it's your lucky day!!! Anyways, let's not waste time on long, long intros and get straight to the point alright...

Meself
So here's a little update of all that has happened to me in the past half a year or so... Firstly, I got together with a really really darling dude, who's kinda selfless, generous, lovable, down to earth and all the rest of the positive, lovey dovey adjectives you can think about... Hehez... His name's Albert... He's in the Navy... Has 2 sisters, a brother-in-law, and 2 really beautiful nieces... So ya...

That's us at VivoCity, just after I came back from my pageant (which you will read about next...)

Miss Young International 2006
So that's the first thing... The next would definitely have to be the Miss Young International (MYI) 2006 pageant in Manila, Philippines in November last year. It was my first international pageant and it was one hell of an experience... Total disorganisation but at the same time loads and loads of fun and new friends... It was a rather small competition, with only 10 countries competing - Venezuela, USA, Ecuador, Singapore, Mexico, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, China and Australia. Apparently there were supposed to be many many more contestants but due to some mysterious reason, they never showed up... Oh well...

Anyways, the first few days were kinda slack as we were waiting for the entire world, so to speak, to come together before we went touring and all... So we were put up in the Manila Pavilion for a few days... It's a really nice hotel with really really scrumptious food... It's just a pity that I was there for a pageant... If not, I would have gorged my face with all that yummy food... LOL... Food aside, the people there were really charming as well... The service staff were so so polite and cheerful all the time... And for some reason, I was a hit among them... LOL... Everywhere I went it was, 'Hi Miss Singapore...' or 'Hey... Miss Singapore...' To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed all that attention... Hehez... We also did quite a bit of shopping... The things there are unbelievably cheap!!! Bikinis were going at like S$15 and sports tops were like only S$7... Me, who doesn't like shopping, came back with an overweight luggage... Get the picture? And of course, to prevent the extra kilos from piling up every day, I'd hit the gym early in the morning and run about 5km on the treadmill... It was a breeze to run on that machine... LOL... So after all the countries had arrived, we moved off to the other provinces in Manila for our tour...

As always, all that touring had to come to an end... And it obviously ended with the coronation night... Prior to that, mini competitions were held to determine the final six... There was the swimwear competition - which Venezuela, USA and Ecuador came in Top 3 - and the evening gown competition - where once again Venezuela and USA were part of the Top 3, and to complete the Top 3 countries in evening gown was yours sincerely... Yupz... That's me alright... I was shocked... LOL... That's because I went into the competition without an expectations at all... And low and behold, here I am, standing before the crowd, with the hot favourites behind me... That feeling was totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Hahaz... So anyhow, on the night of the finals, the show didn't start till like 11pm! We were all tired and hungry and Miss China and Miss Taiwan had to catch a really early flight the next day... It was really really hell... So anyway, the show finally started a good 3 hours late... Everything went the way we rehearsed and then came the announcement of the Top 6... I was being called first... followed by USA, Venezuela, Mexico, Ecuador and obviously Philippines... Then there was the usual swimwear and evening gown competition again and the question round for the Top 6 was done... After that, the announcement for the Top 3 was made... But here's the thing... No question for any of the Q&A round was prepared... All the MC said to us was just pick a blank piece of paper and I will just read out the name of the judge who will ask you the question... Even the final question was thought out by Mexico and myself! How much more cheapo can they get? Anyway, things got on and subsidiary awards were given out... I got Miss Friendship, Mexico got Best talent, Ecuador got Best in National Costume, and Venezuela got Best in Swimwear and Evening Gown and Miss Boardwalk... As for the winners (in order of merit): Miss Young International 2006 - Venezuela (apparently she got dethroned and Ecuador is not the reigning MYI 2006); 1st runner up - USA; 2nd runner up - Ecuador; 3rd runner up - Singapore (that's me... Yippee); 4th runner up - Mexico; 5th runner up - Philippines...

I've got pictures from the pageant and they're available on http://becky85.multiply.com/photos/album/2... So have fun viewing them...

Well... that's all for now... stay tuned for a continuation of this entry... Coming up next: My 21st birthday, Christmas, New Year's, my first trip overseas with my darling, Chinese New Year, and last but not least, my exams.... Till then...

FRUSTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!

It's just so so frustrating. All I wanted to do was help! Did you have to scream at me?! Was that reaction called for?! Couldn't you have explained it nicely? You tell me some jargon and you expect me to know what it is. It's only NATURAL that I'd ask what it means when I don't know what it is! And you say I'm interrogating you! To you it's nothing. But did you consider how I'd feel? I am not your punching bag. And in case it never occurred to you, IT FREAKING HELL HURTS!!!! It sucks alright!
